China Musical Instrument Association (CMIA) is a national association authorized by the Ministry of Civil Affairs of the People’s Republic of China. It is a trade organization voluntarily set up by public institutions, enterprises, mass organizations and individuals of various economic types engaged in manufacturing, operation, scientific research, education, service, etc. of musical instruments. Under the guidance of the government, CMIA bears the responsibilities of coordinating and supervising of the national musical instruments industry. Founded in March of 1989, CMIA now has 400 corporate members in 2011 and individual members, mainly of piano tuners and violin makers from across the country.
Since its establishment, CMIA has insisted on carrying out the national industrial policies and making investigations in the trade and have assisted the government in doing a large amount of positive and effective work in making the development plan of the trade, implementing the famous brand strategy, fostering the musical instrument market, regulating enterprises’ operations, working out the national professional standard, launching the vocational training and performance appraising, organizing international musical instrument exhibition, offering information consulting service and holding trade technology exchange conference.
CMIA will cooperate with the friends from all walks of life home and abroad and make the efforts wholeheartedly to promote the progress and prosperity of the musical instrument industry of both China and the world.
